PRELEXIA
 Pre-School for great kids

who need a little help reading

Prelexia is the first pre-school for youngsters exhibiting dyslexia indicators.*  We focus on nurturing the often superior abilities of dyslexic children in math, science and creativity, while addressing each child's learning needs using scientifically proven methods of treatment.1

Given proper training in reading, children with dyslexia, who often possess superior right brain skills that allow them to excel in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM, the group of subjects the government has deemed integral to advanced society) are well suited to highly paid careers in technology and creativity driven fields.

Using film production as an exciting focal point for the combination of science and creativity, Prelexia at Stunt Ranch offers a fun and supportive environment in which dyslexic children can flourish, developing early skills in a glamorous field that enhances their self-esteem.

Virtually all research on dyslexia stresses the importance of early detection and treatment, but most programs simply identify preschoolers that are likely to develop dyslexia, while waiting to begin treatment for several years.  This delay wastes precious time that could be used to treat dyslexia when it is most easily corrected.  The "wait and see" approach to dyslexia allows the condition to advance as the "wiring" solidifies and the young brain's highly supple state diminishes.  The condition then becomes more difficult and time consuming to correct.2  The sooner treatment begins, the easier and more effective it is.

As dyslexia treatment consists primarily of administering exercises that promote reading ease and verbal fluency, all children can benefit from the process.  If a child, on medical examination, is found to possess the neurological impairments that physically define dyslexia, the treatment allows the child to become a reader.  If it turns out that the child was simply developmentally late in attaining certain verbal skills, the dyslexia treatment promotes his/her performance in becoming a fluid reader.  While reading and verbal impairments may be caused by conditions that do not respond to language therapy, exposure to such treatment cannot harm and would in fact benefit any child.
